Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data Marten (“the app”, “we”, “us”), provided by KodeFoundry, collects and how we use it. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Information we collect

• Account data. When you sign up, we collect your email address. If you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we receive an identifier (and, where you allow it, your email) from those providers solely to authenticate you.
• Your content. The notes, lists, tags, links, and credential items you create. When cloud sync is enabled, this content is stored in your private, user-scoped area of our database so it can sync across your devices.
• Website analytics. This marketing website uses Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate visits. The app itself does not include advertising or third-party tracking SDKs.

How we use it

• To authenticate you and provide the app’s features.
• To sync your notes across your devices when cloud sync is on.
• To maintain security and operate the service.

We do not sell your data, show you ads, or read your notes for advertising.

Where data is stored

Authentication and cloud-synced content are processed and stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and protected by per-user security rules so only you can access your notes. If you disable cloud sync, your notes are kept only on your device.

Data retention & deletion

Your content is retained until you delete it or delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and all cloud-stored notes at any time from within the app: Account menu → Delete Account. This action is immediate and irreversible. For deletion requests or questions, contact hello@kodefoundry.com.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures, including encrypted transport and user-scoped access rules, and the app offers optional biometric (Face ID / Touch ID) locking for sensitive notes. No system is perfectly secure; please keep your account credentials safe.

Children

Marten is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes are reflected by updating the date above.
